Basic courses, junior classes or official certificates - we are here to accompany you on your journey to becoming a real sailor, and of course to make sure you acquire all the necessary certificates along the way. All of our courses can be completed in only a week, so that you can use the rest of your stay to rent ships and discover the bay up close.

We’ve been fascinated by the sea for a long time and can't wait to teach you everything we know about our favourite sport! Students from age 15 and up can learn all the basics in our course: basic theory, sailing knowledge, knots, laws and nature conservation are all part of our curriculum. Setting off onto the water, you can learn and master basic maneuvers on the safe and sporty Sun Horse 19 boats. Docking, tacking and jibing, man-over-board maneuvers, right of way laws and capsize practice - for future dinghy sailors - are taught in a way that even beginners can learn quickly here.
Our basic sailing course includes the basic VDWS certificate. Training takes 12 hours in all and takes place from Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm.
Young sailors from age 7 and up are welcome to learn the ABCs’ of sailing with us as well. We teach basic knowledge in a playful atmosphere - with fun guaranteed. Recognising where the wind is coming from, docking the boats, tacking, jibing, beating and how to act on the water are the courses’ main themes.
The training for the certificate “Jüngstenschein" takes 12 hours in total and takes place from Monday to Thursday from 2 pm to 5 pm. Training takes place on Optimists ad RS Tera dinghies.
Kids who already have their “Jüngstenschein” certificate can participate in our skills developing course. This gives them the opportunity to build up their knowledge of sailing and gather experiences to make them feel at home on the water.
The 12-hour training takes place on Optimists. We are happy to give you more information on the course times if requested.
Even the most experienced sailors can learn more here. Fine-tuning sailing’s small details is the most important part of our advanced courses, with the goal to obtain better reflexes and more routine on board.
Training takes 6 hours in all and is split up into two units. Especially in summer, the courses are flexibly adjusted according to the sailing school’s weekly plan.
Sometimes it just has to be official: the formal “Sportbootführerschein” is an official license, which allows you to navigate through inland waterways as well as coastal regions with sailing and motor boats. It only takes six days to complete this course during your stay at the “Wasserferienwelt”. After the week of intensive training you can immediately undertake the exam, making sure your knowledge is still fresh. Since these exams are official, we don’t hold them ourselves, unlike the way we do with our other courses: official examiners come to us to make it formal. Since there aren’t many exam dates per year, make sure to sign up on time.
