Popular tours include taking the ferry across the water to Arnis, the smallest town in Germany, and the Baltic Sea beach “Schönhagen”. Kopperby is known for its picturesque village and surrounding landscapes. Whoever wants to enjoy nature can do this on foot, by bike, or with a dip in the nearby sea. One of the most popular beaches in the area is the Wiedefelder beach, with lifeguards watching over it all summer long to ensure your safety.
The town Kappeln is perfect for relaxing walks through the streets, enjoying the historic buildings and browsing in plenty of shops and little cafés. Immerse yourself in the town's culture with a visit to the traditional smokehouse where you can enjoy fresh eel with a view of the harbour. If you feel more like some sightseeing, the museum harbour invites you to marvel at the lovingly restored historical ships, some of which are over a hundred years old. From this vantage point, you can also enjoy a view to the drawbridge over the Schlei that opens hourly to let waiting ships pass through. The windmill “Amanda” is just outside the city center and home to a tourist information center as well as the civil registry office for weddings in Kappeln.
